The Saudi ambassador to South Africa, Sultan Al-Anqari, held a reception on Saturday in the capital, Pretoria, followed by a working lunch on the occasion of the Kingdom鈥檚 assumption of the G20 presidency and the approaching G20 Summit in November.
In a speech, Al-Anqari emphasized the Kingdom鈥檚 leading role during its presidency of the G20, despite the difficult circumstances imposed by the coronavirus disease pandemic.
He pointed out that the pandemic had not prevented the Kingdom from playing its global role in facing this crisis.
鈥淭he Kingdom called for an extraordinary G20 summit, presided over by 抖阴短视频鈥檚 King Salman, to coordinate international efforts to reduce the pandemic鈥檚 economic, health, and humanitarian impact,鈥� he said.
The reception was attended by a number of prominent political and diplomatic figures, including the economic adviser to President Cyril Ramaphosa, Trudi Makhaya, the executive director of the New Partnership for Africa鈥檚 Development, Ibrahim Miyake, senior officials from South Africa鈥檚 Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, and the ambassadors of the G20 member states.
